A drug dealer and his runners were nabbed with mandrax tablets and crystal meth on the R27 road enroute to Calvinia.

On Wednesday, 26 October 2022 members of the Security Crime Intelligence and Calvinia K9 Unit received information regarding a consignment which was to be collected at Piketberg in the Western Cape.

The suspects were expected to be driving back to Calvinia just after 20:00. The team acted promptly and monitored the R27.

According to information received, the suspects hired the vehicle with the purpose to collect the consignment in Picketberg.

The vehicle which matched the description was spotted and pulled over and upon searching the vehicle, the four suspects were found inside the vehicle in possession of seventy (70) mandrax tablets and crystal meth weighing 133 grams.

The drugs confiscated inclusive of the vehicle are valued at R97 450-00.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Calvinia Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs.
