The SAPS welcomes the 20 year rape sentence that was handed down to Solomon Booysen (30) in the Galeshewe Magistrates Court, recently.
On 25 July 2014 at 03:00 the 24-year-old female victim and Booysen were walking when he overpowered her and dragged her into a veld in Donkerhoek.
He threatened her with a panga and raped her. The accused is known to the victim and was arrested 3 days later.
On 14 December 2021, Solomon Booysen was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years direct imprisonment and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
