Men accused of robbery and dealing in dagga were arrested on Tuesday 19 May 2020, in Delportshoop. The Northern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Detectives, traced two of the suspects in Delportshoop after a case of armed robbery was reported.

It is alleged that the suspects accosted a man who was near Longlands and robbed him of his belonging and undisclosed amount of cash.

Earlier this week the suspects held a man who was walking towards R31 near Longlands and threatened to kill him with knives and in the event robbed him and fled the scene. The suspects were arrested following police investigation.

Subsequent to their arrest, a house which was suspected to be their hiding place was raided, and dagga with an estimated street value of R7000-00 was found hidden inside the house.

Two suspects were arrested and charged with possession of dagga.

All four suspects are expected to appear before the Barkley West magistrate’s court on Wednesday 20 May 2020.
