The Hawks’ Serious Organized Crime Investigation team working in conjunction with Springbok Public Order Policing, successfully executed a take-down operation in Port Nolloth when they arrested a 51-year-old suspect for illegal dealing in unpolished diamonds on 14 March 2022.

A search and seizure was conducted and police recovered three diamond lights, five diamond scales, two calculators, a diamond loop, a diamond classified sieves and a diamond scope tester.

The suspect was allegedly involved in a number of diamonds transactions worth R144 000. He is expected to appear at the Port Nolloth Magistrates’ court today, 15 March 2022.

The Hawks’ Provincial Head, Major General Kholekile Galawe lauded the team for a job well done.
