On 24 July 2023 at about 18:45, members of the Kimberley SAPS Flying Squad and Crime Intelligence unit followed up on information of dagga allegedly in transit on a taxi inbound from the North West en-route to Springbok in the Northern Cape.

The taxi was stopped and searched at a Vehicle Check Point (VCP) on the N12 near Kimberley and police found dagga concealed in black bags.

The dagga has an estimated street value of R76 500-00.

The 55-year-old male was arrested and charged with dealing in dagga.

The suspect will appear in the Kimberley Magistrates’ Court soon.

The SAPS will continue to unabatedly strengthen their efforts in eradicating drugs from our communities.
