De Aar Public Order Police and De Aar Crime Prevention Unit received intelligence driven information regarding an unknown male employed at De Aar Correctional Services as a prison warder who was allegedly smuggling drugs into the prison.
On Sunday, 29 October 2023, the members acted on the information and arrested a 39-year-old male suspect, whilst he was on his way to work and found dagga, tik and cash in his possession.
The suspect will appear in the De Aar Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 31 October 2023.
The Pixley Ka Seme District Commissioner, Major General Nomana Mtukushe lauded the members’ swift response and urged community members to continue being the eyes and ears of the police by reporting criminal activities.
