Members of Calvinia Task Team and K9 Unit arrested a man and his wife aged 31 and 26 on 5 February 2019, in connection with dealing in dagga.
The woman’s Calvinia premise was searched after information from community members was received and followed up upon leading to the discovery of dagga weighing 19,99kg. The dagga is estimated at about R29 985.00. Cash of R2837.00 was confiscated.
The Cluster Commander of Namakwa, Brigadier Hender has applauded the prompt reaction of members for removing the toxic substances from the streets of Calvinia.
The couple is appearing before the Calvinia Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
Police investigation continues.
