Cross border operations yield good results, Namaqua

The two days operation dubbed “Operation Faru” started on 26 July 2017 and is still continuing until 27 July 2017.

The operation focus is on drugs, tracing of wanted suspects, conducting of Vehicle checkpoints (VCP’s) and smuggling of illegal goods between RSA and neighboring countries.

The operation is conducted at Namaqua Cluster and all Port of entries in the province.

Thus far four suspects have been arrested for various cases of possession of and dealing in drugs. Tik with a street value of R6300 and dagga with an estimated street value of R48 400 were confiscated.

Nine wanted suspects were also arrested during tracing operations for different cases.

All arrested suspects are expected to appear before court soon. Police investigations continue.
