The police in Springbok are investigating a bribery case following an incident where a tuck shop owner allegedly attempted to bribe a police official by offering him R2000-00 in Bergsig in Springbok.

It is believed that on 2 April 2020 at approximately 09:05 members were conducting COVID-19 duties which included compliance visits to spaza shops.

A 39-year-old male tried to bribe a police official not to close down his tuck shop.

The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Springbok Magistrates’ court.

His case was postponed until 28 April 2020.
