Northern Cape Major General Kholekile Galawe has applauded the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigating Unit for the life sentence imposed on Mzwandile Majosi (30), accused of stabbing and killing Constable Lentswe Edward Magorosi (35), formerly stationed at Roodepan police station.

Constable Magorosi’s lifeless body was found dumped in the field at Lerato Park, Kimberley during the early hours of 8 January 2017. He had suffered multiple stab wounds, he subsequently passed away on 9 January 2017.

Following investigations by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Investigating Unit, Majosi, was later traced and arrested.

The Kimberley High Court found Majosi guilty on 3 September 2018, and was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, a further 15 years imprisonment for robbery and one year imprisonment for possession of drugs.

The sentences will run concurrently.
