The Kimberley High Court recently handed down a 16 year prison sentence for murder, 12 months direct imprisonment for housebreaking with the intent to assault and a further 6 months direct imprisonment for assault to 40-year-old, Bokang Moso.

The Court heard that the 37-year-old male victim and his friend were attacked by the accused at his home.

The accused is the ex-boyfriend of the girlfriend of the deceased.

On 2 December 2018 at about 03:15 the victim and his friend were in the house in Riemvasmaak when the accused broke into the victim’s house and violently attacked the victim and his friend.

He stabbed him to death and severely assaulted the victim’s friend.

The meticulous investigations led to the accused pleading guilty in Court and was henceforth found guilty as charged.

The District Commissioner for the Pixley ka Seme district Major General Nomana Mtukushe applauded the Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Marcelle Mabhamu and Detective Constable Asiphe Nqavela for ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are removed from society.
