At 19h27 on Friday evening Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the N12 about sixty kilometres from Kimberley in the direction of Hopetown.
Reports from the scene indicate that the family had pulled into the breakdown lane of the N12 to secure a donkey, the twin boys aged six was sleeping on the cart when a bus traveling on the N12 collided with the donkey cart.
Exact detail to the cause of the crash is still speculative and will form part of the police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the impact was of such that the two boys were found thrown off the cart and landed hundred meters apart from each other.
Tragically they died on impact due to the extensive injuries that they sustained.
With the force of the crash the connecting bar of the cart impaled the donkey and tragically caused him to die on impact.
