The Station Commander of Postmasburg, Lt Col Andries Witbooi welcomed the sentence handed down to three accused for the brutal murder of Dick de Koker on 26 March 2021 in the Kathu Magistrates’ court.
The incident happened on 23 March 2019, at Postmasburg Makoudam when the three accused brutally murdered 31-year- old Dick de Koker and carried his lifeless body to the veld and set it alight.
Lt Col Witbooi applauded the investigating team of Postmasburg SAPS and Detective WO Diphoko who worked tirelessly in finding and linking the suspects who perpetrated this heinous crime.
The three accused, Nico de Koker (31) and Tsokolo Olyne (28) was sentenced to life imprisonment while Hendry Smith (33) was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
