Douglas SAPS Detective unit arrested a 35 year old bogus advocate for impersonation of a legal representative. The Police also charged the suspect with fraud.

It is alleged that the suspect, known as Gideon Adams, posed as an advocate and defrauded several different parties of tens of thousands of rand, which he allegedly charged as attorney fees to his so called clients.

On Monday, 20 November 2017 the suspect was arrested at his home in Prieska.

Police also confiscated several documents and proof of payments that allegedly implicates the suspect in this regard. Adams appeared briefly in the Douglas Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 21 November 2017 and the case was remanded to 30 November 2017, for a formal bail application.
