The Galeshewe SAPS Family Violence, Children and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is requesting the assistance of the public in tracing a person of interest in solving a rape case.

This also relates to the ongoing investigation into the abduction case that was opened at the Delportshoop police station following the alleged disappearance of a 15-year-old female victim in Proteahof in Delportshoop on Monday, 13 January 2023.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim drove with a person namely, Solomon Mdluli from Delportshoop. She was under the impression that they were going to the R31 road crossing but he drove to a guesthouse in Ganyesa where he allegedly raped the victim twice.

The suspect allegedly brought the victim back to Delportshoop on Thursday, 16 March 2023 and dropped her at the police station and instructed her to lie to the police in order to protect him from being arrested.

The suspect allegedly is residing at Ganyesa RDP Section in the North West Province, but he could not be traced at home.

The police are requesting the public to assist in tracking down the male person of interest by the name of Solomon Mdluli.
