9 Year sentence for Colesberg drug dealer

The District Commander for Pixley Ka Seme, Brigadier Nomana Adonis welcomes the incarceration of a drug dealer in Colesberg.

On 12 October 2017 the SAPS in Colesberg with the assistance of Crime Intelligence unit operationalized information and arrested Andile Daku(42) in Kuyasa, Colesberg with Mandrax and Tik worth about R15 000.

The accused was released on bail and arrested again while still on trial for a similar offense.

Andile Daku was charged and found guilty on all 5 counts of dealing in drugs in the Colesberg Magistrates’ Court.

On 29 June 2022 he was sentenced to 9 years direct imprisonment.

The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Brigadier Nicky Mills commended investigation officers WO Steven Deysel and WO Heinrich Tromp from Colesberg Detectives and Crime Intelligence unit for an outstanding job done. The community is also thanked for their assistance in ensuring that drug dealers are taken out of society and placed behind bars where they belong.
