Two suspects, aged 14 and 18 respectively are expected to appear in the De Aar Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 27 July 2022 on a charge of theft.
It alleged that on Saturday, 23 July 2022 the suspects were found in possession of racing pigeons which were reportedly stolen in De Aar.
Police received a tip-off about the two who were in possession of racing pigeons, at their premises in Raymond Street in De Aar.
The rightful owner identified the pigeons, subsequent to it being recovered. According to the owner, 80 of his racing pigeons to the value of R140 000-00 were stolen from his premises in De Aar on Friday, 22 July 2022.
The police managed to recover only eight of them.
Police Investigations are continuing.
