Members of the Kuruman Public Order Policing unit operationalised information received from the JTG Crime Intelligence unit and pounced on 5 male suspects who were found in possession of illegal gambling machines.
On 4 March 2023, the five suspects were allegedly transporting the illegal gambling machines in a truck from Johannesburg to Kuruman.
Police spotted the truck at a petrol station in Kagung and flagged it down near Bosman Street in Kuruman.
Upon searching the truck, the police discovered and confiscated 63 gambling machines, 154 coin inserters, 12 hoppers, 9 mother boards and 152 gambling machine speakers.
The approximate value of the seized items amounts to R439 000,00.
