The Provincial SAPS Organised Crime Detectives followed up on information and arrested three male suspects following a farm robbery in Campbell. On 7 July 2021 at about 20:00 three men entered a house on a farm outside Campbell. The men threatened the 36-year-old farmer and his 28-year-old wife with a firearm and assaulted him with pangas.

The men took a substantial amount of cash, a 38 special revolver, a laptop and cell phones. The suspects loaded the victims into their silver Toyota Hilux bakkie in an attempt to have them draw more money from their bank accounts in Kimberley.

The complainants’ bakkie allegedly had a mechanical breakdown about 20km outside Kimberley. The victims were tied down next to the road and the suspects fled the scene.

The husband managed to untie himself and reported the matter to the police. The suspects were all arrested on the morning of 2 August 2021 at 11:00 in Galeshewe, Kimberley.

The police also retrieved the 38 special revolver and a 9mm toy pistol that was buried under a bedroom floor at a house in Galeshewe. The police also confiscated a cellphone and laptop that allegedly belong to the victims.

The suspects aged 24, 25 and 27 will appear in the Douglas Magistrates Court. Anyone with more information can call D/Cst Bernard Sebegilwe on 060 864 6128.

The investigation continues.
