On 14 December 2018, the Warrenton Regional Court sentenced Odiseng Seshuane aged 31, to 18 years imprisonment in connection with a case of rape. This is after a heinous act of rape to a minor of 15 years old that took place on 21 January 2018 at Ikhutseng location in Warrenton.

The accused tormented the young girl whom is known and close to her family.

Advocate Stain of the National Prosecution Authority, requested the court to be considerate and uproot the cancer that is in Warrenton of rape by sending a clear message to the community that women and children are not objects but human beings that must be treated with respect.

The accused’s name will be endorsed in the National Sexual Offences Register, not work anywhere where children are involved and declared unfit to possess a firearm in his lifetime.

The Acting Cluster Commander of Francis Baard Brig Tip Brink commended the meticulous investigation conducted by Detective Sergeant Dastile of Jan Kempdorp Family Violence Child protection and Sexual Offenses Unit.
