Young boy finds body of missing girl in North West

The body of a four-year-old girl who was reported missing last week was found in the bushes in Huhudi near Vryburg on Monday, North West police said.

Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said the body of Nomthandazo Talakase was found by a boy who was hunting near Monotomosetlha informal settlement in Huhudi.

“He [the boy] then alerted his elders who informed the police. Upon arrival at the scene, the police found the body with a missing left hand. No one has been arrested and investigation into the matter continues.”

The girl was last seen on September 11. She was reported missing to the police who launched a search, assisted by members of the community and support from the media.

The North West provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane condemned the incident and requested the community to remain calm and work in cooperation with the police to ensure that anyone who was behind this evil deed is exposed and arrested.

A case of murder have been opened.

The police urge members of the community to come forward with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect by calling Detective Captain Thomas Mbandulula on 082 443 8704.
