On Wednesday, 27 December 2017, a suspect is expected to appear in the Itsoseng Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder.
A 23 year old man is expected to appear in the Itsoseng Magistrates’ Court for alleged murder of a 50 year old victim. It is alleged that the suspect and the victim had an argument that led to a fight at a shebeen in Bodibe Village near Itsoseng on Sunday, 24 December 2017.
The suspects took out a knife during the fight and allegedly stabbed the victim on the neck. The victim was taken to the local clinic where he was certified dead on arrival. The police were called and arrested the suspect.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane condemned the incident and repeated the importance of resolving differences amicably.
She said that incidents such as these including the one that occurred in Lichtenburg could have been avoided if all parties were prepared to resolve their differences peacefully rather than resorting to violence.
