An elderly woman was seriously injured when a black male attacker attacked her and beat her over the head in her home in Rustenburg on Thursday afternoon 24 September 2020. A female friend dropped her at her house in Leyd street after a visit to Pretoria. The attacker must have watched the house because she was attacked shortly thereafter.
The attacker left with only a laptop and cellphone. The woman succeeded in pressing a panic button and a security company responded.
The woman was profusely bleeding from the blow over her head and the whole kitchen was smeared with blood after the violent assault.
It was reported that the Police only arrived 3 hours later although they were notified immediately. There is an ongoing spate of gruesome attacks and murders directed at elderly people taking place in South Africa at the moment.
