Two men accused of stealing 13 cattle worth R29,000 will appear in the Lehurutshe Magistrate’s Court near Zeerust on Monday, North West police said.

Colonel Emelda Setlhako said the suspects aged 33 and 53 were arrested on Thursday, at Madutle village near Lehurutshe after police were alerted about the theft of cattle at a cattle post.

“Upon arrival of the police at the scene, three suspects ran away and that led to a chase. It was during the chase that two suspects were arrested while the other one managed to evade arrest. The police managed to recover 13 cattle worth R29,000 and seized an apparatus used to brand mark livestock,” she said.
