Felix Bonomari (24) and Yusuf Thomas (36) appeared at the Brits Magistrates’ court on 27 March 2020, for illegal possession of suspected stolen properties.
The pair was arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation on 25 March 2020 in Brits when they were found in possession of two suspected stolen trucks carrying copper.
The trucks which were allegedly hijacked and were found hidden at a warehouse in Brits. The suspects were allegedly seated inside the trucks, leading to their immediate arrest.
The trucks worth approximately R800 000 and copper worth R2.5 million were seized for further investigation. The matter was postponed to 6 April 2020 for a formal bail application.
