The SAPS team comprising of members from Potchefstroom and Provincial Office has on Friday, 15 January 2021 arrested two suspects aged 33 and 50 transporting liquor, thus contravening the Disaster Management Act- Adjusted Level 3 Lockdown Regulations.

The members of the team were busy with visible policing duties at about 09:50 on the Mooibank / Kromdraai road in the outskirts of Potchefstroom when they noticed three suspicious looking LDVs travelling on that road. The members managed to pull off two of the vans while one managed to flee.

Upon searching the vehicles, police found cases of liquor. As a result, the drivers of both vehicles were arrested and fined R5000.00 each. The liquor was confiscated.
