Three suspects arrested for murder of Boekie Meyer

Police in Jouberton arrested three suspects in the early hours of Friday, 20 January 2017, for murder. Boekie Meyer (72) was murdered on a smallholding outside Klerksdorp.

The suspects’ arrests follows after an incident in which 72-year-old Boekie Meyer was allegedly killed at his house on 24 December 2016. It is alleged that the victim, who was staying alone, had just returned home when the suspects overpowered him. They allegedly tied him up and stabbed him on the upper body. Several goods were stolen from the house and the safes were opened and raided as well.

The suspects, aged between 23 and 25, were ultimately arrested and found in possession of undisclosed amount of cash. Further investigation led to pointing out of the victim’s golf shirt. The suspects are expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 January 2017 facing charges of murder and housebreaking.
