Three Nigerians held for allged drug manufacturing in Rustenburg

Three people were arrested for allegedly manufacturing drugs in Rustenburg, North West police said on Friday.

Lieutenant Colonel Pelonomi Makau said two men and a woman, all Nigerian nationals aged between 20 and 36 were arrested on Thursday, after the police got tip-off about drugs at one of the residential complexes in Rustenburg.

“They [police] went to the place where they conducted a search at one of the houses. During the search, chemicals and equipment that are apparently used to manufacture drugs were found.”

The three were expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, on a charge of possession of dependent producing substance.

The arrest follows one in which a woman was arrested last month in Boons outside Rustenburg after a drugs and laboratory worth R8 million was found at her farm.
