Two suspects aged 23 and 48, are expected to appear in the Groot Marico Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 July 2021, in connection with Stock Theft.

The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning, 16 July 2021, after being found in possession of stolen cattle at Pella village near Groot Marico.

According to information received, the police got a tip-off about men who were selling suspected stolen livestock, then made a follow-up.

Consequently, the duo were located and took the police to a farm where stolen 11 Bonsmara calves worth R90 000, 00 were found in a kraal. Preliminary investigation revealed that the calves were allegedly stolen at a farm in Groot Marico on Thursday night, 15 July 2021.

The suspects were arrested and charged with stock theft.

The Provincial Commissioner of North West Lieutenant General Sello Kwena applauded members of Stilfontein, Phokeng and Lehurutshe Stock Theft Units members for their cooperation that led to the arrest.
