Suspects attack game lodge near Wolmaranstad
Elderly woman sustained serious stab wounds during farm attack

On 13 April 2017 four armed suspects gained access to a business located on a farm and robbed the workers of the salaries and mobile phones.

Four suspects entered a game lodge near Wolmaranstad at approximately 10:20, and pretended to be looking for one of the employees.

They allegedly pointed the lodge employees with firearms and tied them up with cable ties and took them to a storeroom where they were forced to lie down.

The suspects allegedly robbed the employees of their cellphones. According to information, one of the employees was instructed to open a safe where an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The suspects then fled the scene with their vehicle.

The incident was reported to the police who responded swiftly.

With assistance of the Airwing, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted at Extension 7 in Jouberton. The police searched the area and one suspect was successfully traced and arrested. Three other three suspects are still at large and investigation into the matter continues.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Wolmaransstad Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 April 2017
