A 43-year-old suspect is expected to appear on Monday, 13 September 2021, in the Molopo Magistrate’s Court in Mmabatho on a charge of possession of stolen vehicle.

The suspect’s court appearance emanates from his arrest by the Mahikeng Flying Squad members on Thursday, 9 September 2021 in Lonely Park village.

According to information at our disposal, the police were on duty around Mahikeng Central Business District (CBD) when they received operationalised information about a suspected stolen Toyota Hilux which was stolen during a house robbery in Gaborone, Botswana.

The vehicle was traced and eventually found at a hostel in Lonely Park. The suspect who is a tenant at the hostel, was arrested.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended the police for their swift reaction which led to the apprehension of the suspect.
