The North West provincial police management welcomed sentences that were handed down by Klerksdorp District Court to three rapists on Thursday, 7 June 2018
In one of these cases a 6 year old victim was playing at a friend’s house in February 2014 when the accused called her and her friend. The accused offered them food and instructed them to wash the dishes. Afterwards the victim was then taken to the accused’s room where she was raped.
For this offence, the accused, aged 43, was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General, Baile Motswenyane congratulated Klerksdorp Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) for a sterling job and securing sentences to ensure that the culprits pay for their evil deeds.
