
In a decisive crackdown on drug trafficking, Operation Shanela II has led to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in Kuruman, with dagga worth an estimated R20,000 confiscated.
The arrest followed a vigilant operation by JTG Highway Patrol members on Sunday, 06 July 2925, at approximately 08:20. Officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked alongside the N14 road in Kuruman and approached the white Polo Vivo tactically. A subsequent search uncovered 8.68kg of dagga, with an estimated street value of R20,000.
The suspect, a 41-year-old man believed to be from Mahikeng in the North West, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of dagga. He is expected to appear in the Kuruman Magistrates’ Court soon.
