In Ganyesa, a 29-year-old man is expected to appear at the local Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 July 2017, in connection with the murder that occurred at Barolong Section.

The suspect’s court appearance follows his arrest on Saturday, 8 July 2017, after he allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old victim.

According to information available at this stage, it appears that the suspect and the victim were at a local tavern when an argument ensued between them. The suspect took out a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim. The latter was transported to Ganyesa Clinic where he died. The incident was then reported to the police who managed to successfully trace and arrest the suspect.

In another unrelated incident on Friday, 6 July 2017, police in Lomanyaneng nabbed a 37-year-old suspect for allegedly killing his 37-year-old girlfriend. It is alleged that the victim was found lying dead inside a house with a stab wound on right side of the neck. The motive of the incident is still unknown and the suspect is expected to appear in the Molopo Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 10 July 2017.
