The towns of Lichtenburg and Coligny in the Western Transvaal have in recent days become the first victims of the new South Africa and the Rainbow Utopia of Mandela and De Klerk.
Businesses have been looted, and Coligny looks like a war zone where white farmers guard the residential area against robbers. A white residential house has been burned. Three trucks were also burned. Farmers and residents guard the area to prevent further damage.
In Lichtenburg, 30 kilometers away, the position is not any better, 30,000 chickens have burned in a truck while a police vehicle was overturned and an armored police vehicle burned.
FF + leader, Dr. Pieter Groenewald, visited Coligny. He said the claim that a 12-year-old’s death is the reason for the uprising is just a smoke screen for racist action and violence, and he points out that the liquor stores are mainly looted.
