In a coordinated operation on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, a multi-unit police team arrested a 32-year-old Nigerian national in Klerksdorp for the alleged unlawful possession of drugs.
The operation was conducted by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, in conjunction with the North West Provincial Anti-Gang Unit and the Provincial Drugs Task Team. The arrest followed actionable intelligence received about a Nigerian male suspected of dealing drugs in the area.
Acting on this information, the team proceeded to the suspect’s flat. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of a significant quantity of suspected narcotics. The seized substances included crystal meth, mandrax tablets, rock, kat, and ecstasy tablets, with an estimated street value of R50,000.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 13 November 2025, to face formal charges of unlawful possession of drugs.
