On Wednesday cooperation among Vryburg K9 Unit, Visible Policing, Crime Intelligence and Traffic Officials paid-off when a 29-year-old Nigerian man was arrested for possession of drugs.
According to information, a suspicious vehicle was spotted on a gravel road just outside Vryburg after being seen stopping several times along the road. The police approached it and one suspect ran into the bushes. He was successfully chased and apprehended. Upon arrest, he was found in possession of drugs.
Police members carefully coducted a search along the gravel road as well as in the bushes. It was after several hours of the search that different types of drugs such as cat, rock-cocaine and heroin were found hidden along the road, all with estimated street value of R327 000-00.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Vryburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 20 May 2016.
