Ntesang Isaac Molefe (24) appeared on Wednesday, 3 November 2021, before the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court for murder. The accused was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, 8 November 2021 for a formal bail application.

Molefe’s court appearance emanates from his arrest on Monday, 1 November 2021, for allegedly killing Tshwanelo Seleke (25).

The incident occurred at Extension 1, Ikageleng Location, Zeerust in the early hours of Monday morning, 1 November 2021. It is alleged that the police found Seleke’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds on the face, upper and lower body.

According to reports, the pair were from a tavern when an argument which led to Seleke’s death ensued. The suspect who ran away after the incident, was arrested few hours later.

Investigation into the matter continues.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena is saddened by this gruesome Gender Based Violence (GBV) related incident and two others that occurred in Jouberton outside Klerksdorp. Lieutenant General Kwena conveyed his condolences to the families and indicated that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that alleged the perpetrators pay for their evil deeds.
