A 40 year old mother has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her son’s Educator on Friday 22 February 2019, at about 07:00 at Leema Primary School in Tlhatlhaganyane near Sun City.

It is alleged that a 52 year old Educator was in the company of two of her colleagues and about to enter school premises when she saw the suspect at the gate. According to information received, the suspect accused the Educator of ill treating her child.

She allegedly told the Educator that she will teach her a lesson. The Educator was allegedly still responding and explaining that she does not ill treat learners when the suspect attacked her with an umbrella she was carrying. The victim was repeatedly assaulted on the head and hands where she sustained injuries including open wounds.

The suspect fled the scene after the incident and the victim managed to enter the school premises and was later taken to the clinic for medical treatment. Police who were called to the school were still obtaining the victim’s statement when members of the community brought the suspect to the school.

The suspect was then arrested after being handed over to the police and is expected to appear before the Mogwase Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 February 2019. Investigation into the matter continues.
