Two men have been arrested after a woman and her son were murdered in Boitekong near Rustenburg, North West police said on Sunday.
Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said a 21-year-old woman and her two-year-old son were allegedly strangled on Friday.
According to the information received, police were summoned to the scene where upon arrival they found the bodies of a woman and her son, both of whom appeared to have been strangled, lying on the floor. Police followed up leads and arrested two men, aged 18 and 25.
“It was during [the] arrest of the suspects that the police found the woman’s cellphone and some of the items that were stolen in the house.” The two men were expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, she said.
