The body of 15-year-old Karabo Monyama was discovered on Wednesday, 8 March 2023, buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of her 23-year-old boyfriend.
The boyfriend was arrested on the same day (Wednesday) and he was charged for cases of murder, perjury and defeating the ends of justice.
He is expected to appear in the Moretele Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 March 2023.
The police in Cyferskuil had requested the community’s assistance in locating Karabo Monyama (15), residing at Monageng Street, Cyferskuil, close to Makapanstad.
According to information received, she was last seen on Sunday, 5 March 2023, at about 13:00 when she left home to watch soccer at a nearby field.
However, she never returned back home.
