Mismanagement by incompetent ANC - Raw sewage pollution in Ventersdorp a crisis

On 1 October 2021, the FF Plus brought the ongoing sewage pollution problem in Ventersdorp to the attention of the Minister of Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo, and insisted that urgent action must be taken to remedy the situation.

Due to a lack of regular maintenance, raw sewage is spilling from a processing plant in the area and finally ends up in the Rietspruit and the nearby Elandskuil Dam.

Apart from the apparent health risks that it poses to local residents, it also results in the pollution of groundwater and the environment.

This has a seriously negative impact on the local agricultural industry and tourism in the area.

Dlodlo undertook to address the problem and also to engage with the Department of Water and Sanitation for further intervention.

These steps were taken after the FF Plus took up the matter with the JB Marks Local Municipality and lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission (HRC).

Thus far, the party has not received any positive feedback.

The FF Plus will continue to apply pressure on all levels of government to protect residents against the dire consequences of the mismanagement by incompetent ANC authorities.

The persons responsible for this situation must be held accountable.

Voters must take a stand with the FF Plus in the elections and use their votes to oust the ANC from government and put a stop to the decline.
