On Friday, June 16, around 17H00 Hanno Steyn 47 was overpowered by three armed suspects on his farm Hibernia, in Lichtenburg.
The suspects assaulted Hanno and shot him outside his house. He died on the scene.
Hanno’s mother heard the commotion and locked herself in her bedroom and could only activate the alarm two hours after the attack. The elderly lady is traumatized.
The suspects ransacked the house and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
When the police and community services arrived, a search for the suspects began.
The police are investigating the incident, and the suspects are still at large.
