A 34 year old man is expected to appear in the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 May 2019, in connection with two counts of attempted murder.
The suspect’s court appearance emanates from an incident in which he allegedly shot and badly injured his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend, on Friday 10 May 2019, at Selosesha Section in Morokweng near Vryburg.
It is alleged that the suspect, who was armed with a pistol, went to a house in which his ex-girlfriend stays with her current boyfriend. He found the duo and shot both of them in their upper bodies. It is alleged that the suspect also hit the current boyfriend on the head with a panga and fled the scene.
The duo were rushed to the District Hospital, where the ex-girlfriend is in a serious but stable condition. Police managed to trace and arrest the suspect and charged him with two accounts of attempted murder.
