The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane welcomed a life term imprisonment handed down to a 31 year old rape accused, Tsholohelo Joel Dichomi last week.
The accused’s sentencing by Taung Regional Court for two counts of rape follows his apprehension in July 2012 for raping a 17 year old minor at Vaaltyn village outside Taung.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane applauded the Taung Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) for securing the two life sentences.
Lieutenant General Motswenyane said this proves that commitment and dedication from the members when collecting the evidence is what made the case to be successful.
