A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and wounded another man in Stilfontein near Klerksdorp, North West police said on Sunday.
Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said a 37-year-old man was shot on Saturday and a 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting.
She said police responded to a report of attempted murder in Stilfontein and when they arrived at the scene they found the victim laying on the ground with blood on his legs.
“According to information, the suspect shot the victim while he was on his way home from a tavern. The police managed to arrest the suspect and also to get the firearm that was allegedly used to shoot the victim. At this stage the motive of the shooting is still unknown. The suspect is expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday.”
