On 31 December 2017, the police in Khuma arrested a 25 year old suspect for allegedly raping a 27 year old woman in Khuma, Stilfontein.
The suspect’s arrest emanates from an incident in which the victim was called outside while at a local tavern. According to information received, the suspect forced the victim to accompany him to his shack where he allegedly raped her several times.
The victim managed to escape and seek help from a passer by.
The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was successfully traced and arrested. He is expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrate’s Court on 2 January 2018.
