The police in Coligny showed that lawlessness will not be tolerated when they apprehended a suspect for murder.
On Friday, 22 December 2017, the police arrested a 42 year old man for alleged murder of his 32 year old girlfriend after being alerted about the incident by a passer by. According to information received, the woman’s lifeless body with an open chest wound was found inside the suspect’s vehicle at a dumping site in Coligny.
The suspect was apprehended at his residential place in Tlhabologang Location, Coligny after the police launched a search. The motive of the incident is still unknown and investigation into the matter continues.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Lichtenburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 27 December 2017.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane condemned the incident. She encouraged members of the community to drink responsibly and to solve their differences amicably including in domestic relationships.
