Ephraim Ditaba Bouman (29), Andries Kabelo Mashomo (28) and Benjamin Thabo Sebati (27) were remanded in custody when they appeared in the Makwassie Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 28 May 2020 for burglary business. They will appear for a second time in court on Thursday, 4 June 2020 for a formal bail application.

The accused’s court appearance stems from their apprehension on Tuesday, 26 May 2020 in Makwassie, after police conducted intensive investigations following break-in and subsequent theft of computer equipment at a primary school in Makwassie on Wednesday, 15 April 2020.

The suspects allegedly gained entry into the administration offices through the window. During the arrest, police also recovered suspected stolen properties such as one computer monitor, two key boards and three Tower CPU boxes.

As a result, the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena applauded the detectives for working hard to ensure that alleged perpetrators are brought to book to face the full might of the law. Once more, he urged members of the community to report suspicious activities at schools by contacting their nearest police stations or calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
