Investigation team apprehends three suspects for separate cases of attempted murder and malicious damage to property

A dedicated team established to investigate a number of cases including the alleged poisoning of 44 cattle, arrested three suspects on Thursday, 14 December 2023, for separate cases of attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

One of the suspects, aged 37, was arrested for three counts of attempted murder after he allegedly shot at three males on Friday evening, 27 October 2023, at Botsalano Section in Morokweng village. The police seized an air rifle, two cell phones and two vehicles during the arrest. The suspect was further linked with a case of malicious damage to property in which he and two other males aged 35 and 39, apparently smashed a private security company’s vehicle windscreen. The incident occurred in Boshoek near Ganyesa at about 00:45 on Friday, 13 October 2023.

All three suspects are expected to appear before the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 18 December 2023. Investigations into the matter and other cases including the alleged poisoning of cattle, are still underway.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena applauded the team for their diligence in ensuring that the suspects are arrested to face the full might of the law.
